Medicinal Honey Infusion for tonifying leaky boundaries and sluggishness in the physical body
Medicinal Honey Infusion for tonifying leaky boundaries and sluggishness in the physical body
Libra season holds medicine for love, connection and sweetness but it also holds the shadow aspect as well. Folks with Libra placements that are unbalanced may lean toward people pleasing, over extending, indecision, over indulging and not having energy left for deep self care. This recipe will help us to connect to the medicine of astringent herbs that can help us in tonifying the areas of ourselves where there is too much sluggishness and indecision. We will be able to create harmony within through stimulating and tonifying herbs that are helpful in counteracting that sluggish and overly lax part of ourselves. Helping us to create physical, emotional and spiritual boundaries.
These parts of personalities begin with the inner body– an unbalanced endocrine system, nervous system, leaky gut perhaps and low energy. These manifest as the traits mentioned, people pleasing, indecision and over extending without a thought about how it may affect you later. As a Libra rising…i'm writing this for us both lol.
Ingredients needed:
A mason jar
A pot
Something to strain herbs with
About 3 cups of honey (raw unfiltered and local if possible!)
1-2 tablespoons of dried herbs (Rose, Thyme, Passionflower, Nettles, Yarrow, Ashwagandha)
Instructions:
- Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, gently warm the honey over low heat. Avoid boiling it; you just want it warm enough to help the herbs infuse.
- Add Herbs: Stir in the dried herbs.
- Infuse: Remove from heat and let the mixture sit for 4-8 hours, or overnight, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Strain: Once infused, strain the honey through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean jar to remove the herbs.
- Store: Seal the jar and store it in a cool, dark place. The infused honey should last for several months.
This is a lovely and easy way to consume medicinal herbs. You can add it to tea, foods, dressings, face masks etc.
