Spiritual Bath and Ritual For Eclipse & Virgo Season

This week we are experiencing a full moon lunar eclipse in pisces and we are sharing an easy to make bano that consists of a few Virgo energetic herbs. I don’t create elaborate rituals for eclipses but considering that this is a Piscean moon, a simple spiritual bath feels aligned. Pisces is ruled by Neptune and they deal with spirituality, dreams, connection, imagination and also the shadowy aspects like escapism, disassociation and enmeshment. This eclipse is helping us to see beyond the veil and will be uncovering aspects in our lives that are ready to change. Those old stories we tell ourselves aren’t doing us any good.

I felt that this was a great opportunity to tap into some of the herbs we have been working with during this virgo season - and share a simple kitchen witchin’ bano that you can create with herbs that you probably have in the fridge or pantry. This clearing & road opening blend will help us in reprogramming how we move through life and how we can clear up the old narratives and illusions we keep ourselves under. I am partial to spiritual baths because I believe that the conduit of water is one of the strongest tools earth has given us and when you infuse herbal technologies and essences into water…the two of them are a powerful duo.

Virgo is associated with the healer, allowing your inner healer to be expressed as you create a spiritual bath for yourself is key to creating the vibration needed for the ritual. In some traditions, spiritual baths should only be made by initiates or priests but I firmly believe that herbs are tools and medicine for the people. Earth provides such epic medicine for us, for all of us who know how to hear her, see her and honor the spirit of those many expressions of her.

Here are two different ways to prepare a Spiritual Road Opening Bath using herbs that are connected to Virgo & Exú.

Fresh Plant Bath: Set your ritual space, light a candle, light some incense and put on some music that sets the tone for ceremony. Check out our Spotify for lots of playlists if you’d like some inspo!

Once you’ve got your sacred space set up, grab your herbs and a large bowl of water. You’ll want to fill it up at least halfway. Take your herbs and breathe in their essence, hold them to your heart and thank them for choosing you for their medicine. Whisper your thank yous and set them down- slowly begin to peel away each leaf and flower from the branches adding them into the bowl of water. As you do this for each twig and branch, think about what you’re clearing away, allow for spirit to work on your behalf and remove the things that you forget or cannot see with your own human mind. Also think about the roads to your goals and intentions opening up– imagine obstacles being cleared for you to move through with ease. When each leaf is in the bowl, you begin to rip and rub the leaves with your hands– this is helping the plants ase to infuse into the water. Continue this process until the water is very green and you feel intuitively that its infused enough. From here, add anything you feel called- essential oils, florida water, holy water, road opener oil, flower essences, gem essences etc– this is your time to tap into your intuition and feel into what else is needed. Once your bano feels prepared, strain the herbs and add the infusion to a large vessel for you to be able to store it for at least 3 days. Take this bath for 3 consecutive days– at the end of the day, before bed. Pouring from the neck down and allowing yourself to air dry. During this 3 day period, be mindful of what you are consuming, who you are spending time with and how you are creating moments of ritual and time to do the things needed to help call in your intentions. The herbs don’t work if we don’t- don’t forget that!

Dried Plant Bath: Set your ritual space, light a candle, light some incense and put on some music that sets the tone for ceremony. Check out our Spotify for lots of playlists if you’d like some inspo!

Once you’ve got your sacred space set up, grab your dried herbs and a large pot of water. You’ll want to fill it up at least halfway. Take your herbs and inhale their essence, hold them to your heart and thank them for choosing you for their medicine. Whisper your thank yous and set them down, preparing the pot to boil. Once its boiling, add them into the water. As you watch the herbs simmer in the pot, think about what you’re clearing away, allow for spirit to work on your behalf and remove the things that you forget or cannot see with your own human mind. Also think about the roads to your goals and intentions opening up– imagine obstacles being cleared for you to move through with ease. Use this period as a moment of meditation or writing out what you are releasing and clearing. Allow the pot to boil/ simmer for at least 20 minutes. Once its cooled, add anything you feel called- essential oils, florida water, holy water, road opener oil, flower essences, gem essences etc– this is your time to tap into your intuition and feel into what else is needed.

Journaling daily is a positive way to reconnect with your intentions during this 3 day period. Setting time aside for a gratitude ritual can also be a helpful way to maintain the vibration of what you are calling in.
