Capricorn Energetics & A Lord Ganesha Road Opening Active Meditation
Happy Capricorn season from your Cap stellium homie over here*
This astro szn is one of my favorites. I may say that a lot lol perooo, something about Capricorn season has that essence of “getting shit done”. As we close out the Gregorian new year and as Cap season begins, we are met, internally and culturally, with thoughts of revision, planning and making resolutions or goals for the new year. All of these thought forms hold the essence of the sea goat, the Capricorn’s asé.
Capricorn is known for holding the energy of slowness, processed based practices, ‘going by the book’, being ambitious and goal oriented (sometimes to a fault), being connected to father time and karma. Its also symbolic of success, stability and prosperity. In astrology, Capricorn represents the 10th house of Career and Public role, reputation, legacy, Authority, Paternal lineage and all ancestry.
Just like everything else, Capricorn holds both light and shadow energy. We all have Capricorn in our charts and feel this energy from a personal to collective level. When we are in the shadow aspect of this energy, Capricorn can become too focused on work and material success, often at the expense of personal well-being and emotional connections. The drive for perfectionism may lead to frustration and burnout, while fear of failure can prevent them from taking risks. Capricorn can also become overly rigid, resisting change and shutting out emotional expression. This can lead to isolation and an inability to adapt to new challenges or experiences.
When we are in the light or balanced, harmonious aspect of this energy, Capricorn energy is grounded and goal-oriented but knows how to rest, recharge, and nurture relationships. They are resilient, responsible, and reliable, with a clear sense of purpose. Balanced Capricorn energy is emotionally aware and able to express vulnerability, understanding that success doesn’t come just from external achievements but from emotional well-being and connection. Their wisdom and practical decision-making skills help them thrive, and they know how to balance hard work with self-care.
By understanding the difference between imbalanced and balanced Capricorn energy, you can unlock the full potential of this sign. Embrace its resilience, but remember to stay connected to your emotions, relationships, and well-being. With balance, Capricorn energy can help you achieve lasting success and happiness.
A practice that has helped me to balance ALL of this capricorn energy, has been a beautiful Kundalini breathwork and mantra practice for Lord Ganesha, who is closely associated with Capricorn. Ganesha, the Hindu deity known as the remover of obstacles, is deeply connected to Capricorn through shared qualities of wisdom, discipline, and persistence. Capricorn, an earth sign ruled by Saturn, is associated with practicality, hard work, and overcoming challenges to achieve long-term success. Ganesha, who embodies intelligence, strategic thinking, and the ability to clear obstacles, aligns perfectly with Capricorn's determination and resilience. Both Ganesha and Capricorn focus on overcoming adversity with patience and dedication, making Ganesha a natural patron for those seeking success in their career and personal endeavors. Ganesha’s elephant head symbolizes wisdom, while his large ears represent the ability to listen and absorb knowledge—traits that resonate with Capricorn’s analytical nature. Additionally, Ganesha’s grounding energy and Capricorn’s connection to the root chakra reflect a shared need for stability, security, and balance between the material and spiritual realms. Together, Ganesha and Capricorn offer the wisdom and guidance necessary to navigate challenges and achieve practical success.
Today, I’ll share the written practice here but please look out for a video example coming soon where we can practice together.
Ganesha, the revered Hindu deity known for removing obstacles, is a symbol of wisdom, strength, and new beginnings. When combined with the powerful "Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung" mantra and the simple but effective finger tapping exercise, you can create a deeply transformative practice to clear blocks in your life and open up new pathways for success and growth.
The "Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung" mantra is a healing chant that invokes the energies of the Sun, Moon, Earth, and the infinite cosmos to clear physical, emotional, and spiritual blockages. It is known for its ability to heal, balance, and remove obstacles, making it a perfect mantra to align with Ganesha’s energy.
When chanting this mantra, you connect with the universal flow of energy that moves through you, helping to release fears, doubts, and challenges. As Ganesha, riding his rat, shows us the way to move past obstacles with flexibility and resourcefulness, this mantra amplifies that energy—allowing us to navigate challenges with ease and grace.
Finger Tapping Exercise
One way to enhance this practice is by incorporating a simple finger tapping exercise that activates the energy of the mantra and further supports clearing blocks. Tapping on specific fingers while chanting can help balance the energy in your body, focus your mind, and enhance the healing process.
Here’s how to practice the finger tapping exercise along with the mantra:
- Sit in a comfortable position, preferably with your spine straight and relaxed.
- Begin by chanting the mantra "Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung" aloud or silently to yourself.
- Finger Tapping Exercise:
- Tap your thumb to each finger of the same hand as you chant the mantra:
- Ra: Tap the thumb to the index finger.
- Ma: Tap the thumb to the middle finger.
- Da: Tap the thumb to the ring finger.
- Sa: Tap the thumb to the little finger.
- Sa Say So Hung: Repeat the tapping sequence in reverse, starting from the little finger back to the thumb.
- Feel the energy flow as you tap each finger and chant. With each tap, visualize Ganesha’s energy moving through your body, clearing away obstacles, and releasing any energy blocks that are holding you back.
- Finish by sitting in silence for a few moments after completing the exercise, absorbing the effects of the practice.
Why This Practice Works
- Alignment with Ganesha: Ganesha’s rat symbolizes the ability to overcome challenges with flexibility and persistence. By tapping your fingers to the mantra, you invite his energy into your practice, helping you clear both internal and external obstacles.
- Activating Energy: The finger tapping exercise stimulates the flow of energy through the body’s meridians, helping to remove stagnation and promote healing. This combination of physical movement and sound vibration deepens your connection to the mantra and magnifies its effects.
- Clear Intentions: As you chant and tap, you set a clear intention to remove obstacles and align with the divine flow. This enhances your ability to manifest positive changes and attract success.
By combining the powerful "Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung" mantra with the finger tapping exercise, you harness the transformative energy of Ganesha, clearing obstacles in your life and welcoming new opportunities. With each tap and each chant, feel the divine guidance of Ganesha helping you move through challenges with ease, grace, and wisdom. This simple yet powerful practice is a beautiful way to activate healing, remove blockages, and align with your highest potential.
